Description
Loose leaf tea strainer. Made in Japan this chakoshi (tea strainer) balances simple elegance with function. We have a very limited supply. The handle is hand hammered with a dappled tsuchime (hammer eyes) pattern. These tea strainers come from the Tsubame-Sanjo area of Niigata Prefecture on the West coast of Honshu Island where some of the finest metal and table ware in the country are produced. This area’s metal working history dates back about 400 years to the Endo period. The basket is 2.75 inches in diameter.
