Sencha Chumushi loose leaf green tea

An exceptional green tea from a dedicated family in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan—this Sencha Chumushi (medium-steamed loose leaf) is seriously one of the finest Senchas I’ve ever tasted.

Hot Brew: Use 1½ teaspoons (about 3 grams) per 6 oz of water at 170°F. Steep for 60 seconds, then strain. Japanese teas can be a bit fussy, but this one is absolutely worth the care. I always use an instant-read thermometer to get the temperature just right.

Iced Brew: For a refreshing cold infusion, use 7 grams of Sencha per 12 oz of water. Brew for 15 minutes—no stirring. Strain into a glass over ice or refrigerate in a jar. Keeps beautifully for up to one week.

Sourcing & Brewing Guidance – All herbs used in our tisane blends are ethically sourced, certified organic, and fair or direct trade—unless otherwise noted. We honor the farmers, ecosystems, and traditions behind every leaf. For the best-tasting infusion, use fresh filtered or reverse osmosis water. We do not recommend using a coffee maker unless it’s a French press that has never been used for coffee. Avoid distilled, tap, or microwaved water, as these can dull the flavor and energy of your brew.

Blending & Packaging – All of our teas and tisanes are thoughtfully blended and packaged in a private commercial kitchen licensed by the State of California and by the city and county of Santa Clara. This ensures every batch meets rigorous standards for safety, cleanliness, and quality—so you can sip with confidence.
