Stainless steel tea strainer for loose leaf teas, tisanes and sifting Matcha. Made in Japan this chakoshi (Japanese metal tea strainer) balances simple elegance with function. We have a very limited supply. The handle is hand hammered with a dappled tsuchime (hammer eyes) pattern. This stainless steel strainer comes from the Tsubame-Sanjo area of Niigata Prefecture on the West coast of Honshu Island where some of the finest metal and table ware in the country are produced. This area’s metal working history dates back about 400 years to the Endo period. The basket is 2.75 inches in diameter.
